When Kenmart first began supplying used komori printing machinery it was necessary and became our practice to completely dismantle machines from our stock and to rebuild them to a standard that could be compared with a new machine. This was a very expensive and time consuming procedure, but sadly it was necessary so as to be able to provide a perfect machine.

Today things are quite different. Technology has moved on and almost without exception whatever machine you choose to buy will have been built to the highest possible standards by the manufacturer and will, as they say, do what it says on the label.Also with sophisticated cleaning systems one can present a very good machine by simply cleaning and servicing without having to dismantle down to the base.

Having said this, it is still very important that the people who are doing the cleaning and servicing are fully trained and also that they are able to set up the printing machine in their workshops and print test to confirm the suitability of the machine. Kenmart’s philosophy of total rebuild, total quality, still exists today. The difference is that we can give you Kenmart quality without the need for complete dismantling at a competitive price.

Some simple guidelines on buying a used printing machine:

Always visit your supplier.
Take the time to inspect their machine shop and their stores.
Ask for permission to talk to customers who they have previously supplied to.
Make sure that you understand the guarantee and that you are satisfied that the supplier can honour it.
Always print test the machine or, if this is not possible, keep a retainer that is payable to the supplier following installation and print testing.
Give your supplier plenty of time to source the correct machine for you.
Don’t be talked into buying a machine you do not need.
